In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit-
A reading from the Second Letter of Paul to the Corinthians
“You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity, which will produce thanksgiving to God through us; for the rendering of this ministry not only supplies the needs of the saints but also overflows with many thanksgivings to God.”
Tonight, as we gather to celebrate your academic achievement, I encourage all of us to take a moment to thank God. To the parents and guardians of these young people, give thanks to the Lord that you have been blessed with young people who have a love of learning and who we honour today. To the students, give thanks to God for the opportunity to learn and for being there for every joy and struggle you went through in every test and paper you wrote, to every presentation you gave, and every assignment. To the faculty gathered here tonight, give thanks to God for having the privilege to bear witness to the efforts of your colleagues and to celebrate the achievements of these students in our Catholic school of John Cabot.
My dear young people, may God continue to bless you to be discerning believers and self-directed life-long learners. May you always choose the path to learn for it is a path that will lead you to helping a greater amount of people you have or may never meet. May you continue to discover the path God has chosen for each of you in the arts, science, or technology. Continue to inspire those in your classroom by your commitment to hard work and in your perseverance. May each of you celebrate the foretaste of greater things to come as you continue to be focused and dedicated to the tasks in front of you. Enjoy and celebrate with your friends and family, for in your joy and successes, in your hard work and dedication, we bear witness to how God has created you as his beloved child called to change the world with your talents and ability. Amen. In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen. In the Name of the Father, Son, and, Holy Spirit. Amen
